Interstella 5555 is an animated musical to the album 'Discovery' by Daft Punk. When I first watched it I thought how cool it would be to be the blue aliens, haha. The idea came up and just started growing and growing, involving music and light up props.

This project took so long...and it seemed whatever could go wrong actually did. But they were finally completed and worn to AUSA 2008. My guitar was built from scartch and is quite heavy! It had a space in the back for my MP3 player playing Daft Punk music as we walked around. All the gems are red resin cast with leds inside of them. I chose to use vinyl for a more space age feel. The paint is also Ben Nye's 'Cosmic Blue' and is airbrushed on. For 3 people it takes about 2 hours.

I love the reaction these costumes get from people. I was also totally surprised with how many actually recognize them. At Youmacon 2008 we were able to dance onstage during the rave while our friend was the DJ in his Daft Punk's Alive outfit. Theres video here!
