Wedding Ashe from Final Fantasy XII
Completed July 2006
Winner of Square-Enix FFXII Contest

I'm not really sure what got me to do this dress, except I remember watching the opening sequence to FFXII and thinking how beautiful it was and thinking what a challenge it would be to make. It definitely proved my biggest challenge yet, and I learned a lot throughout the process. I certainly would do things differently about this dress today, but at the time cosplay was still pretty new to me.

Initially all I had to work off of were fuzzy screenshots of the opening found online. From this I could gather enough information to generally get most of the details on the dress. I had finished it before they released full art of the dress, so ended up redoing the whole bottom for AnimeExpo 2007. Luckily this consisted mostly of cutting down what I had done and adding the details on top.

The most memorable thing about this dress is my trip with Square-Enix. They flew me up to New York for their press conference on FFXII and "Final Fantasy XII Day" throughout Times Square. This was an amazing experience, and I got to meet people like the President of Square-Enix and people who worked on the game! I also got to then check out the DigitalLife expo for a day.
